PCV rupture: causes, mechanisms, symptoms — everything you need to know
Ligaments are strong fibers that connect bones together. The anterior cruciate ligament is one of two ligaments that cross at the center of the knee and connect the femur to the tibia. The anterior cruciate ligament is the main stabilizer of the knee joint. Injuries leading to its rupture provoke further instability of the knee.

Superinductive magnetotherapy (also called High-Intensity Magnetotherapy) is a modern, effective and safe method of treating pain without direct intervention in the human body. This is possible due to the influence on the neuromuscular tissue of the magnetic field, which creates a special superinductive apparatus. Already after the first procedure, there is a noticeable reduction in pain.

Treatment of calcifying tendonitis

#метод

Calcifying tendinitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the tendons caused by calcium deposits in the area of the shoulder joint. It is characterized by constant aching pain in the shoulder, limitation of mobility, discomfort and weakness. Over time, these unpleasant symptoms can worsen, but disappear with proper treatment.

Mashtaler Ortho&Trauma Clinic provides conservative treatment of calcifying tendinitis and, if necessary, performs surgical intervention. We use modern methods to remove calcium deposits — effective and painless.

What is calcifying shoulder tendinitis

Calcifying tendinitis is a disease in which calcium hydroxyapatite accumulates in the tendon of the shoulder. Most often, the tendon of the gluteus muscle, which is responsible for raising the arm, is affected. Inflammation of the tendon leads to a decrease in the functionality of the rotator cuff of the shoulder. As a result, the patient experiences pain and limited mobility.

The process of deposition of calcium salts in tendons and leaching of these deposits can be divided into the following stages:

  1. Pre-calcifying phase. The tendon changes structure, but the patient does not yet experience acute symptoms.
  2. Calcifying phase. The formation of calcinates, which is accompanied by pain syndrome.
    • Forming phase. There is an active increase in the amount of salts.
    • Rest phase. Calcinates become stable.
  3. Post-calcifying phase. Restoration of the shoulder joint with a gradual increase and decrease in the intensity of symptoms.
    • The resorptive phase. It is characterized by gradual resorption of deposits and increased pain.
    • Reconstructive phase. Restoration of connective tissue, return of shoulder functionality to normal.

Symptoms that characterize tendonitis

  1. Shoulder pain that increases during movement — especially when lifting the arm.
  2. Decrease in the amplitude of hand movements.
  3. Night pain that often interferes with sleep.
  4. Feeling of weakness in the hand.
  5. Slight swelling, redness of the skin (rarely, usually with concomitant pathologies).

Diagnosis of calcifying shoulder tendonitis

Treatment for calcifying tendonitis begins with consulting an orthopedist. The doctor assesses the mobility of the shoulder, the presence of pain under load and the localization of complaints. He chooses the optimal diagnostic methods:

Treatments for calcifying tendinitis available in our clinic

In modern orthopedics and traumatology, preference is given to conservative treatment - safe and sparing. The correct selection of drugs and physiotherapy techniques allows you to get relief in a short time. Of course, there are always exceptions — and therefore we are ready for surgical treatment of tendinitis.

Conservative treatment

  1. Taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve pain and swelling.
  2. The use of physiotherapy — superinductive magnetic therapy or shock wave therapy.
  3. Bubbling — washing of calcification with a needle under ultrasound control under local anesthesia.
  4. Injections of corticosteroids, which have a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect.

Surgical treatment

Surgical intervention is indicated in the following cases:

Mashtaler Ortho&Trauma Clinic conducts treatment of calcifying tendinitis in Lviv by arthroscopic method. It is a minimally invasive procedure that minimizes damage to soft tissues and significantly reduces the size of scars. The doctor removes calcium deposits with thin instruments that are inserted through small incisions. If there is a tendon rupture, suturing is performed.

The effectiveness of professional treatment of calcifying tendonitis

Properly selected therapy is effective in 90% of cases. The combination of anti-inflammatory drugs, physiotherapy and calcification washing provides rapid relief of inflammation and relief of tendinitis symptoms.

If conservative therapy is ineffective, we carry out arthroscopic treatment. Proper rehabilitation minimizes the risk of recurrence of the inflammatory process and ensures complete restoration of shoulder mobility.

Why choose Mashtaler Ortho&Trauma Clinic

  1. Specialization in the treatment of joint diseases. Our doctors are constantly studying new techniques and learning innovative techniques of therapy, surgery and rehabilitation.
  2. Full support. We provide comprehensive support at all stages — from consultation and diagnosis to rehabilitation.
  3. Comfortable hospital. In the postoperative period, patients remain in the clinic under the supervision of medical specialists - this significantly reduces the likelihood of complications.
  4. Individual approach. We select effective methods of treatment for each patient, taking into account his age, type of activity and activity level.
